Data Protection Statement 

John Taylor & Green Ltd is a specialist building contractor carrying out internal/external repair, refurbishment and restoration of commercial and historic property and we use personal information to enable us to promote our services, to maintain our accounts, records and to support and manage our staff. This information must be collected and dealt with appropriately and we comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018. 

We process information relevant for the nature of our work, this is sourced from direct correspondence with individuals or organisations in the normal course of running our business. This may include: 

  • Personal details 
  • Financial details 
  • Goods or services provided 
  • Physical or mental health details 

 The information is processed about: 

  • Employees 
  • Customers and clients 
  • Suppliers and service providers 
  • Advisors, consultants and other professional experts 
  • Complainants and enquirers 

We take appropriate steps to make sure that the personal information we hold (on paper and electronically) is kept secure and only used by people who have the right to see it. Our security measures include password protected laptops and computers, Avast security firewalls on all laptops and PC’s. Our back up application sends data over a secure HTTPS connection and all data is encrypted on our servers which are located in the UK. 

We may retain data for differing periods of time for different purposes as required by law or best practice. Other statutory obligations, legal processes and enquiries may also necessitate the retention of certain data. We may store data such as photographs, achievements, past project details indefinitely in our archive. 

Individuals have the following rights: 

  • The right to access personal data 
  • The right to rectification of personal data held where it is incorrect or incomplete 
  • The right to erase personal data if certain grounds are met 
  • The right to restrict/suspend processing of personal data 
  • The right to data portability to request we transfer data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you under certain conditions 

We are committed to working with you to obtain a fair resolution of any complaint or concern you may have about our use of your personal information. If, however, you believe that we have not been able to assist with your complaint or concern you may have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. 

We will respond to your request as soon as possible but certainly within 30 days.
